Icon- a picture, or an image to represent something
Vector-based graphics- drawing stuff with shapes
Specifications of a project- what your are and aren't allowed to do
Dialog box- a box that contains words and speaking
Palette- a small box that contains little programs inside
Guidelines- something that tells you specific ways to do something
Extensions- to get a longer amount of time on something
Contextual menu- a small menu that pops up when you drag the mouse over it
Clipping mask- an object that goes over other artwork
Hue- a variety of a color
Primary Color- a color that in mixtures yields other colors
Secondary Color- a color made by mixing two primary colors
Tertiary Color- a color made by mixing two secondary colors
Neutral Color- black, white, and grey
Continuous tone image-  Image in which colors and shades of gray smoothly merge into the neighboring colors or shades
Resolution- the maximum number of pixels that can be displayed on a monitor
File size- the size of a file
Typography- the art of printing with type
Typeface- the style or design of a font
Serif- a smaller line used to finish off a main stroke of a letter, usually at the top and bottom of a character
Body type- type sizes that range from 4pt through 12pt type
Display type- type sizes above 12pt
Reverse type- consists of white type on a solid black or darker color background and can be difficult on the reader's eye
Point size- the size of a point
Ligatures- a character or type combining two or more letters
Ampersand- a character or symbol
Small caps-  the capital letter of a particular font
Lowercase- the smaller version of a letter in comparison to an uppercase
Uppercase- a capital letter and bigger in comparison to a lowercase
